To Assist Learners Sanctioned to Attend Therapy Prior To Expulsion
The word “discipline” is from the Latin word disciplina, meaning “instruction and training.” It is derived from the root word discere—”to learn.”
How we respond to misbehaviour shapes both individual futures and the school community. Our Diversion Program provide a rehabilitative, alternative approach that benefits students and fosters a healthier school environment.
Focusing on understanding, accountability, and behaviour change, the program helps learners explore the reasons behind their actions, and a behaviour intervention plan is then designed to fit each individual learner. This promotes growth and maintains educational continuity, helping students stay engaged and confident.
Support and guidance are provided to parents as part of the program. The learner is part of a family system and the school system; therefore, addressing the system as a whole promotes positive change.
Diversion programs have proven to reduce repeat offenses, creating a safer and more focused school environment. It promotes accountability, self-reflection, and insight into themselves, their behaviour, and the effects thereof on them and others. We help students develop life-skills in empathy, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, problem-solving, relationship building, and behaviour change.
Following the completion of the program, a report will be provided to the school’s disciplinary committee.
Sessions support both victims and those who caused harm, teaching students to:
- Express emotions in a safe space
- Take responsibility without shame
- Rebuild trust and relationships
- Develop empathy and self-awareness
- Feel connected and part of the school community
- Caregiver involvement is recommended.
We believe every learner and family deserves the opportunity to heal, grow and transform.
Cost Breakdown:
- Initial assessment (Learner and Caregiver) R500
- Group Sessions R400 per learner
- Caregiver Group Sessions R400
- Individual sessions R500
- Feedback Sessions: R500
- Reports: R250
Christian Constellation Therapy integrates the principles of systemic family constellation therapy with a Christian worldview. This approach seeks to identify and heal deep-rooted family dynamics and challenges hindering personal growth and spiritual development. Clients can experience spiritual and emotional healing while addressing various issues, trauma, and dysfunction within their ecosystems.
- Cost R800 per/person for a two-day Face Off Workshop.
The original German word, as used by the Founder, Bert Hellinger, is “Familienaufstellung,” which directly translates to “family arrangement” or “family positioning.” It was accepted in English as family constellations.
The theoretical foundations come from psychodynamic theories, system theories, psychodrama, family structural theories, group therapy theories, transactional, and transgenerational theories. At Heart Song, we integrate Christian Psychology and Biblical principles when using Constellation therapy; HOWEVER, people of any religious or spiritual background are welcome.
The phrase “family constellations” can be misleading because it does not only refer to family relationships but also to emotions (fear, anxiety, anger), trauma, addictions, and a variety of other connections. IT RARELY INVOLVES FAMILY MEMBERS: GROUP MEMBERS ARE USED AS REPRESENTATIVES of family members, emotions, trauma, etc. It examines how hidden dynamics and unresolved trauma influence our lives in unconscious ways. We seek to bring these unconscious patterns into awareness, where they can be acknowledged and addressed.
This process does not judge or blame but seeks understanding and release. Many who engage in constellations experience a sense of forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace. It offers a bigger-picture perspective, helping individuals observe problems from a different angle. Constellations works with your inner perception of the systems, allowing one to gain insight, leading to relational shifts.
